Richie E Edeen, MD, MEd, is an orthopedic surgeon offering comprehensive care at Texas Hill Country Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. He serves the entire Hill Country area at the practice's two offices in Fredericksburg and LLano, Texas.
Dr. Edeen grew up in the hospitality industry in Vail, Colorado, where his family has been for four generations. After graduating from the University of Colorado at Boulder, he came to Texas in 2004. He then worked as an Athletic Trainer for the University of Texas Longhorns during the 2005 and 2006 Rose Bowl seasons.
Dr. Edeen attended medical school and followed with Orthopaedic Residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He then completed his fellowship in Sports Medicine at the Cincinnati Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center alongside Frank R. Noyes, MD, of the renowned Noyes Knee Institute. Dr. Edeen has spent over 20 years on the sidelines of various sports caring for athletes and is proud to bring his expertise to the Hill Country.
Dr. Edeen and his family relocated to Hill Country in early 2020 to be closer to extended family as his wife, Karis, is from Llano. When Dr. Edeen is not caring for patients, he enjoys spending time with his children, Daivey and Blake, hunting, cooking all types of food, and staying involved with Hill Country athletics teams.
